终于没有耐性全文读完了，太冗长和细碎了，最多的感叹无非是“Weber is using sociological lens to understand American in his trip." 其余的感觉Chapter 4 (Congress of Arts and Science) 和 Part 2的Chapter 11-13 值得读一下 Christine

书分两编，上部谈韦伯世博会之旅，围绕他在不同城市见闻和交友展开，下部谈韦伯在美国的继受。前者偏档案何史实，略琐碎；对韦伯生活和工作不熟悉或不感兴趣就觉得极为枯燥。后者谈思想史和知识社会学，大手笔，还有猛料，觉得很过瘾。本书中有关帕森斯的翻译评价值得一看，有关韦伯在美国的继受历史也有必要一读。最后，很高兴有一段时间住在韦伯演讲和参观的城市，且与之相距不过15分钟步行路程。
