He was one of the most noticeable members of the Reform Club, though he seemed always to avoid attracting attention; an enigmatical personage, about whom little was known, except that he was a polished man of the world. People said that he resembled Byron-at least that his head was Byronic; but he was a bearded, tranquil Byron, who might live on a thousand years without growing old. Certainly an Englishman, it was more doubtful whether Phileas Fogg was a Londoner. He was never seen on 'Change, nor at the Bank, nor in the counting-rooms of the "City"; no ships ever came into London docks of which he was the owner; he had no public employment; he had never been entered at any of the Inns of Court, either at the Temple, or Lincoln's Inn, or Gray's Inn; nor had his voice ever resounded in the Court of Chancery, or in the Exchequer, or the Queen's Bench, or the Ecclesiastical Courts. He certainly was not a manufacturer; nor was he a merchant or a gentleman farmer. His name was strange to the scientific and learned societies, and he never was known to take part in the sage deliberations of the Royal Institution or the London Institution, the Artisan's Association, or the Institution of Arts and Sciences. 途中有些情节和描述局部有些单薄，但是辗转曲折的情节，可爱的路路通，到最后Mr.Fogg准点出现在俱乐部，帅气的说“Here I am”的时候，绝对的男神啊！为了如此帅气面瘫善良正义的男神，必须打五星！

想象中的fogg是一个年过半百的沉稳老男人

阅读工具：IPAD-IBOOKS；大号字；总共421页，查了75个单词。是我看完的第一本超过一百页的原著没有特别认真读，故事梗概基本理清，没有严格按照2页查一个单词去看，大多时候只要不影响理解都不查单词。尽管有大量地名不清楚。男主是个严格按规律生活的单身、内向、不苟言笑、特别有条理的英国中产阶级。参加了一个俱乐部，每天在俱乐部吃饭、阅读、打牌。俱乐部成员主要有一些银行家、企业家组成。男主和俱乐部的人打赌80天可以环游世界。男主带着随从开始了旅程，旅途中在印度上演英雄救美解救了印度美女，后来带到伦敦成为他的老婆；在日本解救了沦为小丑的随从；在美国与打劫火车的印第安土著枪战，解救被俘虏的随从和其它乘客；从美国抢了一艘船自己开到利物浦。从利物浦包火车到伦敦。。。
