生物知识还停留在高中，作为一本科普读物，读起来还不算费劲，好懂，写的还蛮有意思的。虽然以拟人的方式介绍植物see， smell，touch，etc. 但是还是特地在结尾强调了一下，植物并不能真正的像人那样感知世界，我们的存在也只是外部世界对它造成压力等影响的一部分。

对于贯穿全书的唯机械论解释还是报怀疑态度，不过基本演绎法还是亮

就这么学术的小册子而言，算挺通俗好看的，文笔不错。介绍了植物生理学的知识，回顾了一些重要实验，传达出人文关怀。希望中文翻译别毁了它。ps作者是邓兴旺的学生。以及达尔文好厉害……

简单的科普小书，英文版正文部分只有130多页，很容易读完。植物真是安静，聪明，又可爱的生物啊！
