房龍的故事並沒能吸引我。人類的故事隻不過是人類正史的縮寫。糟糕的編輯。從一本美術圖書中找來瞭很多不相關的經典繪畫作品作為插圖，而且不注明齣處。

房龍教授的這本雖然是寫給青少年的，但對於我們來說，依然是一本不錯的歐洲曆史讀物。由於作者的一些地理和時間局限性，有些的曆史進程和影響的描述並沒有像斯塔夫裏阿諾斯教授那樣深入和那種縱觀全球的融會貫通，但這也讓作者能有更多的筆墨來客觀的講述一些引人入勝的故事。我很喜歡房龍的講述風格，不過如果用更為苛刻的角度來看，它也隻能是一本非常不錯的兒童讀物。
