我們都讀過商務印書館的上下2冊的漢譯本。但我意外的獲得這本書的紐約初版的英文精裝本，單冊，1945年版。自然久，九成新，但硬皮和紙張質量非常好，非國內書籍能比，保守的說，至少還可以使用100年。如果有鍾意此書的書友，可以接洽

算是我西哲的入門書籍，梳理性比較強，但是其中夾雜瞭一些八卦故事確實比較...英倫（以前看英國史紀錄片就詫異：怎麼是由諸多八卦構成的）本來分可以再打高一點的，但是曾讀到馮友蘭自述Russell以馮友蘭英文不過關為由拒絕給他寫序，就覺得Russell自我中心瞭，哲學不是語言學（...

讀之前以為這書是大學哲學導論必讀書目那樣的西方哲學史，結果它是袁騰飛說曆史那樣的西方哲學史。pre-Socratics部分真的不錯，文筆優美，邏輯性強。但從柏拉圖開始，羅素放飛自我，想哪兒寫哪兒，還總是亂入自己的觀點。行文像是急著給編輯交稿那樣，結構混亂沒邏輯。失望。深深地失望。感覺還是《蘇菲的世界》寫的更好。

讀瞭幾個星期，序章也沒有突破，果斷放棄瞭。等十年後再入門吧。
