皮埃爾·布迪厄（Pierre Bourdieu）是法國當代著名的社會學傢。他1954年畢業於巴黎高等師範學院。1960年在巴黎大學人文學院擔任助教，曾擔任阿隆的助手。後在裏爾大學任教3年。從1968年起，但任歐洲社會學中心主任至今。1982年成為法蘭西學院唯一的一名社會學教授。主要著作包括《實踐理論大綱》、《區隔》、《教育、社會和文化的再生産》、《學術人》、《實踐的邏輯》、《換句話說》、《語言與符號暴力》以及《悲慘世界》等。

Drawing upon the history of literature and art from the mid-nineteenth century to the present, Bourdieu develops an original theory of art conceived as an autonomous value. He argues powerfully against those who refuse to acknowledge the interconnection between art and the structures of social relations within which it is produced and received. As Bourdieu shows, art's new autonomy is one such structure, which complicates but does not eliminate the interconnection. The literary universe as we know it today took shape in the nineteenth century as a space set apart from the approved academies of the state. No one could any longer dictate what ought to be written or decree the canons of good taste. Recognition and consecration were produced in and through the struggle in which writers, critics, and publishers confronted one another.

老版（2001年3月第一版）436頁，26元；新版351頁，68元，刪掉瞭老版的“譯後記”，將注釋裏的人、書名保留原文而不是如老版譯成中文，對修訂沒有任何說明，不過粗粗對比瞭下（頭、尾），確有修訂，力度還挺大，老版裏經常性卡殼、死機的句子，現在可以饒你幾個腦迴，還是大體...

《藝術的法則》是布爾迪厄社會學研究中專門探討文學問題的專著，中譯本由中央編譯齣版社2001年齣版，劉暉譯。 P.Bourdieu在國內一般譯為“布爾迪厄”或“布迪厄”，但我也見過離譜如“布熱迪約”、“布爾迪約”的譯法，而且是在同一套書中給一個人譯瞭三個相差甚遠的名字...

整個第一部分就看的迷迷糊糊，一開始主要還是歸因於自己對法國文學幾乎完全不懂…… 可是第二部分開始感覺到除此之外還有翻譯的問題，太相信所謂的從法文的翻譯瞭……在我懷疑有錯的地方嚮英譯本求教，隨便對照瞭第二部分的幾頁英文譯文發現，中文譯者的態度令人怒不可遏……茲...

布哥到最後也沒那麼刻薄，甚至還有點感人，想看老哥的傳記瞭…

野心最大也是膽量最大之作，不僅是debanalization，更是解剖神聖，其實沒有那麼決定論。Weber的宗教社會學，Marx的拜物，Panofsky的慣習（注意《哥特建築與經院哲學》是Bourdieu1967譯為法文的），還有就是對Sartre的可以說太遲的猛攻。Question of Method章note稱要齣版法蘭西公學的講座，可是直到20年後的2013纔齣。。提到經濟學的隱喻時候還稱經濟學隻是一特殊場域（被介紹瞭自己在做房産經濟的研究），至於disposition，position，position-takings，想來也知道自己的占位，以及自己的位置會被取代吧，那些後輩要是用保衛（pour, for）Bourdieu，不知會怎麼看
