Soon the tiger has dispatched all but Pi, whose fear, knowledge, and cunning allow him to coexist with Richard Parker for 227 days lost at sea. When they finally reach the coast of Mexico, Richard Parker flees to the jungle, never to be seen again. The Japanese authorities who interrogate Pi refuse to believe his story and press him to tell them "the truth." After hours of coercion, Pi tells a second story, a story much less fantastical, much more conventional-but is it more true?

Life of Pi is at once a realistic, rousing adventure and a meta-tale of survival that explores the redemptive power of storytelling and the transformative nature of fiction. It's a story, as one character puts it, to make you believe in God.

讀完Life of Pi，厘清瞭不少看完電影後産生的睏惑，也愈加佩服Yann Martel。他不僅講瞭一個精彩的故事，而且文筆齣色，讀的時候經常有滿滿一頁都想抄到筆記本上的衝動。不少人讀完此書後，花瞭大筆精力探討第一、第二個故事孰真孰假。可我卻覺得，全書的前1/3更值得細細品味。...

看這本書是因為看瞭李安拍的同名電影的預告片。一隻孟加拉虎與人生活在同一條船上吸引我。促使我去尋書過來看，因為中文版是2005年的，市麵上幾乎找不到瞭，最後終於從可愛的圖書館裏找瞭它，可愛的圖書管理員還給它加瞭塑料皮套。在這裏我要再一次譴責一下那坑...

仍然記得當年坐在德班的電影院裏看電影時候的震撼，一直想讀原文，沒想到時隔幾年纔花瞭3個月把原文看完瞭，所有的事情隻有去做纔有實現的可能，生存也好，閱讀也好，在絕境中堅持，正好現在也碰到瞭大問題，希望能慢慢的和Pi一樣的度過去。感覺可以再讀的一本書。話說李安增加瞭一些原著沒有的情節，加上電影的特技呈現的一些想象，書和電影都很喜歡，各有不同

電影看瞭很多遍，情節熟記於心，已經很喜歡瞭，而再讀小說依然驚喜連連。《少年pi的奇幻漂流》這個譯名稍微削弱瞭這個故事的沉重感，原名《Life of Pi》似乎更佳。小說作者用輕盈且幾乎詩意的語言，承載住瞭故事裏那些殘酷、荒誕、衝突、彷徨和掙紮，就好像書中Pi在漂流時，無數個一邊伴隨威脅生命的猛虎，一邊抬頭看到海麵上絢爛奇景的瞬間。
