Not Jane Austen's best or most mature creation, in either story telling or writing style. However this was her first book, her wit and sarcasm were at their best, most honestly and artlessly. Just like the young Cathy, it's young, innocent, refreshing.I kept picturing a young Jane herself laughing at other's follies while writing those lines.

奥斯汀小姐的第一部小说就已确定了她语言很绕，情节缓慢，人物啰嗦的风格。感觉整部小说就是为给小说正名，这个挺好玩的。然后哥特的因素，时不时冒出的作者自我其实也不错，总体而言是她较特别的一部，也感觉是较真诚的一部。

奥斯丁的第一本小说语言肯定是没的说但对我这种纯粹reading for pleasure的人来说剧情进展太太太缓慢了加上最近被评论课老师逼得任何事情都要五句话讲清阅读过程略煎熬
