作品不仅仅局限于大屠杀本身，那段黑暗岁月造成的PTSD深深影响了经历过的每一个人。战争的毒性不仅仅在于战场，那种余毒深入骨髓，难以根除。种族灭绝的政策下因为懦弱犹太人化身成了老鼠，麻木于纳粹通知的波兰人则成了猪，狡诈凶狠的猫则是纳粹的象征。人性在战争中是这般脆弱，一句句最平常的话语传递出的却是最心灵深处的绝望。结尾父辈的苦难没有结束，后一代的苦难也悄然而至。

漫画给人以身临其境的感受，真切地去经历那段作者形容为之泣血的经历，不是一段愉快的阅读经历，却引人深刻的反思。更多的人能看到这部漫画，就会有更多的可能接近和平，远离屠杀。
