Joseph Raz (/rɑːz/; Hebrew: יוסף רז; born 21 March 1939) is an Israeli legal, moral and political philosopher. He is one of the most prominent advocates of legal positivism and is well known for his conception of perfectionist liberalism. Raz spent most of his career as a professor of philosophy of law at the University of Oxford associated with Balliol College, and is now a part-time professor of law at Columbia University Law School and a part-time professor at King's College London.

读了关于autonomy和pluralism的节选,结尾处又被诡异地戳中燃点。只有存在真正不同的选择,那选择才是有意义的。而足够的选择正是实现autonomy的基础。忽然意识到pluralism其实未必在个人层面上放弃了对更“善”的追求。这样比起来,似乎perfectionism显得过于急切又雄心勃勃了。
评分最近为了改论文重读这本书。这次再读对拉玆在这本书的命题和论证开始能理解得更多了,同时也理解了为什么范老师会说第三部分是整本书的核心。记录一下,一件值得高兴的小事。
评分这本书向我展示,并且一定程度上也让我相信,某种普遍秩序的可能性,这种普遍秩序并非”规范性“意义上的,而是一种人类社会运作发展的逻辑。
评分本来昨天晚上读得还觉着深受触动心情澎湃醍醐灌顶,今天看完Harm Principle觉得自己和Liberal Perfectionism完全站不到一边:你tax人家来redistribute可以说是provide adequate opportunity但被tax的人的option是不是被diminish了呢?你又说imprisoning是不被Harm Principle justify的,因为violate autonomy了,但这不是一种price么,这不是prevent (at least futuristic) harm么?sigh各家的interpretation都只是为自家theory服务的。PS:Raz是个比Rawls还不可方物的老头子!我还是最爱Cohen!
