很閤我口味的知識分子寫作。聰明，刻薄，幽默，結構對稱，隱喻豐富，用連篇金句嵌套齣瞭幾齣精彩的戲中戲。但後半部分過於拖遝，情節似乎也缺乏錨點，不少富有意味的片段都輕巧地滑過，比Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf一類的不朽經典還是差瞭些。

I must admit I did not thoroughly enjoy it, but the play was clever (like most of Stoppard’s works) and well-plotted. Beautiful lines from time to time: ‘I believe in mess, tears, pain, self-abasement, loss of self-respect, nakedness’ ‘Only two kinds of presence in the world. There’s you and there’s them.’

Ever so elegant. The set-up of the first scene is tremendously clever. On the whole I find the play a lot less inquisitive on politics or philosophy than most of Sir Stoppard's other works, but I am ever willing to go on and on about love. (A la Keats: love is my religion.)
