17年看的第一本书，因为生病躺尸两天，终于把这本书读完了。从外国人视角来看中国，很多我们习以为常的事变得没有那么理所当然起来。书里记录了一些我们作为中国人，不太会感兴趣去了解的一些普通人，从他们的故事里展现了过去的和现在的中国，对将来的中国有悲观也有一丝丝乐观。

总是带着点美国式的居高临下的feel，不过确实也写出了一些国人习以为常，外人觉得不可思议的点。中文版删减了太多东西，这个时候体现出会英语的好处了。
