欧立德（Mark C. 当我们谈论乾隆时，我们在谈论什么？ 在我们这个时代的历史叙述中，作为盛世之君的乾隆帝已很难说是一个正面形象。说到乾隆，最常出现的无非是三个关键词：文字狱、闭关自守、盛世。前两 个词自然是贬义词，几乎是作为乾隆最大的历史污点共同存在，在当下最流行的叙述中，乾隆...  

作者是美国的清史学者和新清史学派的领军人物，具有独树一帜的观念塑造一个外国学者视野中的乾隆给了我一个从一个新的角度审视乾隆的机会，对与摆脱演绎版本的乾隆形象有重要作用，对于喜欢清宫剧的读者来学也是一本很好的学历史的好工具。  

这本书给我们一种启发，当然这种启发并不是第一次了，但正如定宜庄先生在序中所传达出的，以18世纪世界历史大变局中的中华帝国皇帝乾隆帝来作为切入口对于中国知识界很多人脑海中仍然存在的“康乾盛世”观念，无疑有巨大的冲击。葛兆光先生对于超越国境的“亚洲”、“世界”、...

实实在在是个普及知识版，不过这么薄的一本，又不是哲学书，也不能强求。

very readable!!

其实我觉得挺好看的，全面，客观，又不乏人文情怀和娱乐性。比较少(但精确)的分析和较多的叙述， 我觉得是入门级读物比较好的范本。当然，如果我不用一天读完还要写一篇论文的话，我会更享受的。
