菲利普·布儒瓦(Philippe Bourgois，1956-)，斯坦福大學人類學博士(1985年)，1985--1986年在法國巴黎讀博士後，1986--1988年為華盛頓大學人類學係助理教授，1988 1998年為聖弗朗西斯科州立大學副教授，1998 2003年任美國加州大學人類學、曆史及社會醫學係主任，2003 2004年為普林斯頓大學訪問學者，2007年被特聘為賓夕法尼亞大學人文科學學院人類學係及醫學院傢庭與群體醫療係Richard Perry大學教授。他是著名人類學傢沃爾夫教授(Eric Wolf)的學生，深受法國社會理論傢布迪厄及福柯的影響，被認為是新馬剋思主義理論及批判醫學人類學領域一個重要的倡導者。其研究領域包括醫學人類學、文化生産、政治經濟、都市人類學、物質濫用、HIV預防、暴力、民族誌、種族和移民及內城社會痛苦，其著作重在考察宏觀權力機製怎樣形塑個體的行為及親密關係。
