米切爾（Margaret Mitchell, 1900-1949）美國女作傢。齣生於美國南部佐治亞州亞特蘭大市。父親是個律師，曾任亞特蘭大曆史協會主席。米切爾曾就讀於華盛頓神學院、馬薩諸塞州的史密斯學院。其後，她曾擔任地方報紙《亞特蘭大報》的記者。1925年與約翰·馬爾什結婚，婚後辭去報職，潛心寫作。

米切爾一生中隻發錶瞭《飄》這部長篇巨著。她從1926年開始著力創作《飄》，10 年之後，作品問世，一齣版就引起瞭強烈的反響。

由於傢庭的熏陶，米切爾對美國曆史，特彆是南北戰爭時期美國南方的曆史産生瞭濃厚的興趣。她在傢鄉聽聞瞭大量有關內戰和戰後重建時期的種種軼事和傳聞，接觸並閱讀瞭大量有關內戰的書籍。她自幼在南部城市亞特蘭大成長，耳濡目染瞭美國南方的風土人情，這裏的自然環境和社會環境成瞭米切爾文思縱橫馳騁的背景和創作的源泉。

這哪裏是書，這就是一個活生生的磚頭，還好這個版本的字不算特小，就是拿起來費勁，本來以為磚頭一樣的書很難啃，沒想到一看就看瞭一百來頁，文字很舒服
