周锡瑞（Joseph W. Esherick）

加州大學聖地亞哥分校教授。師從於費正清、列文森和魏斐德。1966年在加州大學伯剋利校區畢業。當今美國中國近代史研究領域中最有成就的學者之一。

著作有《義和團運動的起源》《現代中國：一部革命的曆史》、《中國的改良與革命：辛亥革命在兩湖》、《中國地方精神與主導形式》等。

曾獲得美國中國學研究的兩個最高奬——費正清奬和列文森奬，以及加州大學伯剋萊奬等。
