Yu Hua is the author of four novels, six collections of stories, and three essay collections. In 2002, he became the first Chinese writer to win the James Joyce Foundation Award. 很少有中國人寫文章這樣的總結中國。這本書的架構就是用十個詞來描述中國，故事講得不錯，很有曆史年代的代入感，分的也很清楚。 問題就是翻譯。有的地方翻譯的，感覺非常的生硬，甚至是不知所雲，給閱讀帶來瞭很大的障礙。

果然前五個詞匯寫的比較生動，尤其閱讀與寫作兩篇，情感傾注，後麵五個略為零散，但將“山寨”文化的語義擴大化還是頗有深意。
