第一次见Snark这个词是在《神灵狩》里，第13集标题照搬小说最后那句“For the Snark was a Boojum, you see.” 作者某天脑子里莫名其妙冒出这么一段话来，然后有了这本书。有人不停问他这首诗隐含着什么意义，他一直强调他自己也不明白。然后有人还建立了个Boots是杀害Baker的凶手这一说法（“It's a Boo-” 没有说完，后面接的音不是“jum”，而是鞋匠的“ts”，杀害动机是因为baker穿了三双靴子在脚上。如果真是这样，我只能说，这不愧是胡闹文学啊哈哈！）
