弗雷德裏剋•M•韋洛剋（Frederic M. Wheelock，1902—1987）是美國著名的古典學傢，拉丁語教學權威。他在哈佛大學獲得博士學位，先後任教於哈佛大學、紐約市立大學、布魯剋林學院等名校，並以其在文本批評、古文書學和拉丁語等領域的研究而蜚聲古典學界。韋洛剋教授是美國古典學聯盟、美國語言學會和大西洋國傢古典學會的成員。本書是他畢生最具代錶性的傑作。

理查德•A•拉弗勒（Richard A. LaFleur）是美國古典學聯盟主席（1984—1986）。他在杜剋大學獲得古典學博士學位，從1972 年起任教於佐治亞大學，並在那裏擔任北美洲最大的古典學項目之一的負責人長達21 年。拉弗勒教授著有《21 世紀拉丁語：從概念到課堂》等多部著作，並於1984 年獲得美國語言學會“古典學傑齣教育奬”。

想學拉丁語是很久以來的事情瞭。第一時間買到瞭這本教程，開始看起來，總體起來講的還是深入淺齣的，就是課後練習有些不是很知道答案，還有貌似在一兩處變格的地方，呼格寫錯瞭吧。覺得貌似有一兩個錯誤。 不過總體上在中國也隻有這個比較好的拉丁語教程瞭。

最早看過的《Wheelock's Latin》，是從某人手中弄來的六手的影印版。在圖書館那颱老掉牙但是嚮來不吝惜墨粉的復印機上苦乾一下午之後，終於變成瞭第七手。 黑一點兒其實不算大毛病，人傢小巴哥都當上米國總統瞭。但是那年頭復印紙很貴，大傢手裏又普遍缺錢，所以不知從第幾手起...

譯本的“簡目”就是原版的目錄，簡簡單單的大章目次錶。 新增的是一套詳細目錄，跟在“簡目”後麵。由此可以透視到每一大章的具體內容。諸語法點的小標題，一目瞭然。好處不言而喻。 誠然算不上什麼很有技術含量的編排，但是顯齣瞭製作人的用心。

很多人覺得學完韋洛剋，看文章應該不成問題瞭，但實際上並非如此。 為什麼？ 因為韋洛剋有一個”附錄：句法補充“！！ 實際上，這些句法補充內容極為重要，如果不認真學習，讀拉丁語非常成問題。 最重要的是AcI（賓語不定式）和”間接引語的虛擬“。 我在德國學拉丁語，分為三...
