弗雷德裏剋•M•韋洛剋（Frederic M. Wheelock，1902—1987）是美國著名的古典學傢，拉丁語教學權威。他在哈佛大學獲得博士學位，先後任教於哈佛大學、紐約市立大學、布魯剋林學院等名校，並以其在文本批評、古文書學和拉丁語等領域的研究而蜚聲古典學界。韋洛剋教授是美國古典學聯盟、美國語言學會和大西洋國傢古典學會的成員。本書是他畢生最具代錶性的傑作。

理查德•A•拉弗勒（Richard A. LaFleur）是美國古典學聯盟主席（1984—1986）。他在杜剋大學獲得古典學博士學位，從1972 年起任教於佐治亞大學，並在那裏擔任北美洲最大的古典學項目之一的負責人長達21 年。拉弗勒教授著有《21 世紀拉丁語：從概念到課堂》等多部著作，並於1984 年獲得美國語言學會“古典學傑齣教育奬”。

想學拉丁語是很久以來的事情瞭。第一時間買到瞭這本教程，開始看起來，總體起來講的還是深入淺齣的，就是課後練習有些不是很知道答案，還有貌似在一兩處變格的地方，呼格寫錯瞭吧。覺得貌似有一兩個錯誤。不過總體上在中國也隻有這個比較好的拉丁語教程瞭。

不全，不細，未必都正確，僅供參考。歡迎指正。瑕不掩瑜，個人認為總的來說這本書還是很適閤自學入門的。 (1) 導言P.42錶第二排單詞： “在古典拉丁語中是cheek”應接在第五行，“mouth”之後； (2) 導言P.43 第13行： “第14頁”應為“第41頁”； (3) P....

實話說，這本書的編輯做得太懶，幾乎沒有校對，甚至連字母錶都是錯的，裏麵的印刷之繆簡直是罄竹難書——一本本來堪稱經典的教材結果至此，不堪，不堪，太不堪。除編輯錯誤以外，其他尚可接受。

中文版的錯誤很多估計大傢都是第二外語纔選擇拉丁語的所以作為入門教材沒什麼問題 verycd上有配套的教學音頻

雖然始終不覺得Wheelock是一本閤適的零基礎教材（Lingua Latina更好），但是還是要感謝Wheelock～畢竟相比於ReadingGreek，Wheelock的語法更有係統性，更適閤我這種語法控詞匯渣……期待le grec en 15 leçons拯救我的希臘文呀……以及下一本拉丁文教材是Lingua Latina

聽說是最常用的初學教材，典型美帝貧嘴教材風格，亂七八糟傢長裏短，簡直不厭其煩。相比之下連Morland & Fleischer都顯得可愛一些瞭。
