文體優雅，語氣堅定、樂觀，對前方或深處巨大的睏難渾然不覺。說 sense-content 既非心靈的亦非物理的這一處理可謂狡黠。讀者會注意到 Ayer 在 Quine 之前就提齣在哲學討論中要否棄 meaning 這種含糊的概念，那麼是否還有比他更早的呢？

我為什麼要硬著頭皮看這種爛書呢……you don’t expect to write an original book when you repeatedly deal with conceivable objections. 用來瞭解邏輯實證主義的野心，本書算是不錯的介紹，隻不過它以傲慢態度推銷的教義都是錯的。我不喜歡一個哲學傢用小寫的「我們」替代大寫的「我」。
