拉师。可以直接拿来设计成一门课。说实话我对是否应该这样理解和组织历史社会学是有保留的。但不得不说文献选得很有品位，归纳也举重若轻，真的见功力。

作者学识和人品皆属一流（已有两部中译作品），但这本为入门者写的小册子略显平淡，缺乏惊喜。看第一章本想打三颗星，但后面的实质性章节流畅丰满许多，四星名副其实。但还是没到来回踱步爱不释手的地步。（这也是作者属一流而非超一流的原因吧。）

结构混乱，历史社会学到底是谁什么、怎么来的，没解释清楚。第六章以后几无必要。第134页John Mill写成John Mills，难道现在国外已没有人读Mill的书了吗？批评世界体系理论没有解释国家在世界体系中的位置何以改变，也无法解释某个国家何以成为霸权国家、并何以走向衰落。不懂这个评价是如何得出来的。世界体系理论最厉害的地方不就是回答这些问题吗？何以就不能解释了？至少从周期理论解释了霸权的兴衰。
