文學批評史已齣版很多種，簡單來說，這本的特色是1）從政治史的視角重新梳理文學批評史；2）包含文學研究方法的最新進展，如新美學、新形式主義等，對D.A.Miller, Isobel Armstrong, Eve Sedgwick， Lauren Brelant等名傢的學說都有綜閤評價。
