第二次被要求读这本50年代的畅销书。上次从post-humanism的角度，这次从media theory的角度。上次觉得年代感很足，作者说的在当今已然是共识了。这次倒发现有些东西又回来了 - “The Marxist Queen is very arbitrary indeed, and the fascist Queen is a good match for her” (193). 另外上豆瓣才发现这本书中译叫“人有人的用处”，说实话这么翻译感觉完全变成了另一本书。虽然原书由于时代局限也难逃人类中心主义，但”the human use of human beings”传递的是一种比较悲观的情绪，而“人有人的用处”感觉是我们都有光明的前途，不懂这个翻译。

算是cybernetics的科普了。人对人的使用，不关机器好坏，但人的使用决定了技术的作用。这看上去老生常谈中充满了极大的盖然性，Wiener在思考过美国整个的经济和政治之后并不在乎传递更多的信息，只是想告诉科学家要有信仰，要有良知拒绝与极权合作，对于技术更重要的是know-what的求知，而不是know-how的美式实用主义。作为语文学家的儿子，从后半部分看得出读过的文学还不少，但后半部分也有点流水账了。。。
