1、跟电影不同，小说是双线叙事，第一人称，人物也更多。但各有好处。2、里面有多处有关哲学和艺术的深入讨论，应该是作者的夫子自道，出自中老年女文青之口总觉得不太妥帖。3、骨子里仍然是通俗浪漫小说，结尾的方式尤其如此。4、不知主人公是否是前所未见的典型人物。

Everything Japanese is elegant and beautiful. Everything French is vulgar and hypocritical. 她们需要一个有钱而又有品味的日本老先生来validate她们存在的意义。车祸是法国小说里反复出现的对无常的阐释吗？Or to stop abruptly before life gets too real again? Overall a clever novel due to the interesting characters. (Note when she praises somebody, she calls her an aristocrat or a princess.)
