必須安利給足球迷。

用建築繪畫曆史地理種族民族性等穿針引綫，采訪引用類比各行各業，講述瞭荷蘭足球幾代人+全攻全守的萌芽成形演變（約翰是個神奇的人類）+關鍵賽事+為什麼老亞軍和輸掉點球大戰。感覺看瞭一本關於荷蘭這個國傢的入門作。跨界跨得，有時覺得作者太刷逼格（這都能扯到一起→貌似有點道理），但是蠻有趣（我對建築繪畫曆史地理種族民族性都有興趣）。成書偏早（2000年）。修訂版加瞭一章2010年世界杯決賽觀感，作者對西班牙更荷蘭而荷蘭放棄荷蘭痛心疾首（有種圍繞一顆小行星做瞭幾年研究，然後小行星被撞沒瞭的悲催感），盡管他極力找多人敘述淡化自己。感謝Chorono、Bobbygu415譯到17章，努力啃完剩下3章英文。
