土耳其作傢奧爾罕·帕慕剋是享譽國際的土耳其文壇巨擘。1952年齣生於伊斯坦堡，在伊斯坦布爾科技大學主修建築。

1979年第一部作品《塞夫得特州長和他的兒子們》得到《土而其日報》小說首奬，並在1982年齣版，1983年再度贏得奧爾罕·凱馬爾小說奬。

1983年齣版第二本小說《寂靜的房子》，並於1991年獲得得到歐洲發現奬，同年齣版法文版。
