Kazuo Ishiguro OBE, FRSA, FRSL (Japanese: 石黒一雄; born 8 November 1954) is a British novelist. He was born in Nagasaki, Japan; his family moved to England in 1960 when he was five. Ishiguro obtained his Bachelor's degree from the University of Kent in 1978 and his Master's from the University of East Anglia's creative-writing course in 1980.

Ishiguro is one of the most celebrated contemporary fiction authors in the English-speaking world, having received four Man Booker Prize nominations, and winning the 1989 award for his novel The Remains of the Day. In 2008, The Times ranked Ishiguro 32nd on their list of "The 50 greatest British writers since 1945".

The chief conflict deals with Ono's need to accept responsibility for his past actions. The novel attempts to ask and answer the question: what is man's role in a rapidly changing environment?

抓緊時間趕一個風潮。開頭有點摸不著頭腦，但是越讀越有意思，含蓄但是不死闆，像小津，像安哲羅普洛斯，也像野草莓，充滿瞭老年人的反思狐疑跟自我審視。語言非常特彆，英語流利，但是有意模仿日語的遣詞造句形式。

‘I often wonder why he makes the effort like that every day. There’s nothing much for him to see. Just an old man with a stick, standing by his pond feeding the carp. I wonder what he finds so fascinating in such a scene.’

平淡又真實，極少對戰爭的直接討論，但一旦觸及便又深刻的復雜，需要做額外的資料閱讀，含蓄簡單的錶達。藝術傢對他在戰時的選擇並不感到後悔，但卻因為女兒的婚事屈從自己的意願在新時代和生活在新時代的人們麵前承認錯誤。

斷斷續續又讀瞭一遍。石黑一雄的敘事細緻幽婉，草蛇灰線，暗潮翻湧。浮世光影是一場考驗，透過稍縱即逝的歷史幻境，背棄師門的小野最終意識到他的宿命和他導師的宿命並無本質差別。人是靠懺悔的勇氣，與崩壞的信仰和解，從而領悟信仰對一個人可能意味著什麼，並非黑白成敗所能定奪。
