理查德·道金斯(Richard Dawkins)，英国皇家科学院院士。牛津大学教授，著名科普作家、生物学家，英国皇家学会会士。

理查德·道金斯是目前全世界最著名的无神论者，2005年14月30日他公开表明自己无神论者的身份。他也是全世界最具争议的进化生物学家，他的每一本书都是畅销书，他还经常在各大媒体讨论、评论科学的各个面相。《盲眼钟表匠》与续篇《攀登不可能的山》(Climbing Mount Improbable,1996)都是进化生物学的入门书。道金斯的理论著作，除《自利的基因》外以《延伸的表现型》(The Extended Phenotype,1982)最为重要。《盲跟钟表匠》获得英国皇家文学学哙非小说类最佳图书奖与美国《洛杉矶对报》的文学奖。英国广播公司(BBC)根据本书拍摄的电视片《万恶之源？》，获得最佳科学纪录片奖。另外他的《解析彩虹》是最受读者欢迎的作品。

陈蓉霞，1961年11月出生于上海市。1983年毕业于华东师范大学生物学系。1986年毕业于华东师范大学自然辩证法研究所，获哲学硕士学位。现任上海师范大学哲学学院教授。

主要著作有《进化的阶梯》、《破译生命密码》、《两性冲突》等。

主要译著有《起源之战》、《适应与自然选择》、《行走于理性的钢丝上》、《安妮的盒子》等。

恩~，我虽然没有通读此书，但读过有关片段章节的中文翻译（由柯南翻译的）。我对于作者在无神论上、以及在对待宗教的态度上都非常认同。这也是我喜欢看《Dr.House》的原因，据说那个角色在对待无神论以及宗教的态度上，就参考了理查德·道金斯的理念和观点。
