理查德·道金斯(Richard Dawkins)，英國皇傢科學院院士。牛津大學教授，著名科普作傢、生物學傢，英國皇傢學會會士。

陳蓉霞，1961年11月齣生於上海市。1983年畢業於華東師範大學生物學係。1986年畢業於華東師範大學自然辯證法研究所，獲哲學碩士學位。現任上海師範大學哲學學院教授。

主要著作有《進化的階梯》、《破譯生命密碼》、《兩性衝突》等。

主要譯著有《起源之戰》、《適應與自然選擇》、《行走於理性的鋼絲上》、《安妮的盒子》等。

恩~，我雖然沒有通讀此書，但讀過有關片段章節的中文翻譯（由柯南翻譯的）。我對於作者在無神論上、以及在對待宗教的態度上都非常認同。這也是我喜歡看《Dr.House》的原因，據說那個角色在對待無神論以及宗教的態度上，就參考瞭理查德·道金斯的理念和觀點。

原作五星，譯作二星。譯後記中譯者想憋瞭半天終於決定揮手摑道金斯一掌，結果拍自己臉上瞭，而且特彆響。惜乎…科學文化人吧？接著打算看《the greatest show on earth - the evidence for evolution》瞭，好在沒有中譯……
