因為話題性很強所以受到不少關注的一本書。但讀瞭之後還是挺令人失望的。大概就是講瞭PUA本身就蘊含著新自由主義和後女權主義的邏輯。因此和亞文化比起來更像是主流文化的縮影。PUA之所以那麼受歡迎的另一個原因是它為男性提供瞭一個能夠在homosocial氛圍下談論性的艱辛的環境，並幫助他們培養heterosexual prowess，從而在其他男性麵前展現自己的男性氣質。總體寫得很一般。作者刻意迴避瞭近些年來對於霸權性男性氣質的爭論，而是采取瞭更後結構主義的視角(嗬嗬????)，盡管新自由主義/後女權主義對於性腳本和男性氣質的滲透這一論點本可以完善Connell關於跨國商務男性氣質的霸權性的論述：這種男性氣質的統治地位來自其新自由主義邏輯對商業精英之外的人群的滲透，而不是商業精英社會地位
