喬納森·弗蘭岑，美國著名小說傢、隨筆作傢。以抨擊現代傳媒、書寫普通民眾著稱，作品具有強烈的時代性。

2010.11.23 一言蔽之，美國的新結婚時代。在短小篇幅裏編織進這麼多時事政治運動和曆史，都算是比一般小說高明的地方。但是NYT的贊美給我太多high hopes，導緻看到cheesy的結局，有點不是滋味。看的時候，有些moments還是很enjoy，有些細節也寫得對胃口（e.g.我和Joey在大學時間差不多）。That said, 看完以後，總覺得所有的characters都unreal & faked & overdone。p.s. 我喜歡書裏麵的一個觀點－一個人不能有太多的自由，因為這會導緻生活的無趣以及毀滅。但是我不覺得這個想法有被貫穿至結局，因此整個作品顯得非常破碎。（本來用英文寫瞭一些感想，但是居然超過字數，隨便翻譯看看吧。）

3.5，幾條故事綫中寫得最好的就是Walter和Patty之間撕心裂肺的感情糾葛，最不可信的是Walter的Trust Fund和兒子Joey的summer intern。對當前美國精神危機之下核心傢庭所麵對的社會、道德問題，對人性與情感的描寫鞭闢入裏，另一方麵許多情節轉摺、人物設置和境遇又刻意得讓人揚起眼角。最為本身為書中世界觀之一object的Patty的自傳，雖然本身並不是bad literature，但這種設置本身極其不讓人信服。情節發展有時拖延得冗長痛苦。總體而言肯定是被媒體過譽的一部小說，但還是挺有可讀性的。
