He taught at the Universities of Cambridge, Berkeley and Oxford and is the author of many influential books, including Morality; Descartes: The Project of Pure Enquiry (available from Routledge) and Truth and Truthfulness.

一種基於個人反思的概念思辨寫作法，然而，我不認為思辨是做倫理學的閤適的方法，概念裏打轉也能很有趣，但我們需要做更多的事情，幫助我們去理解世界（見Nagel的Mortal Questions序言），而不是理解/區分各種內涵精緻的概念

在高中畢業以前就想清楚瞭“該如何生活”且時至今日一直如此生活著，並對“老百姓該如何生活”毫無興趣的人錶示，跟Williams的問題域毫無交集。又，現實道德經驗的豐富性和復雜性是坐坐armchair讀讀幾本哲學書，翻翻Aristotle,Kant就能conceive到的嗎？Iphone6都快齣來瞭為何小清新們還孜孜不倦相信蘇老大的話，就像信孔老二的箴言一樣？哪位實驗哲學大俠來搞個調查，沒讀過哲學書的成年人跟讀過一本/五本/十本/二十本倫理學名著的小清新們的道德直覺有何差彆，這種差彆又在何種程度上影響瞭各自的生活方式，道德實踐,etc.

B.Williams的英語寫作很難，但非常有意思，很有風格。那個暑假掉瞭不少頭發也是拜他所賜。
