畸形的世界裏沒有人是贏傢。作者以對男權社會和政教結閤國傢的諷刺為基礎構建瞭故事背景，讓人深思二者的諸多弊端。最後的結局讓人感動到發抖，這個世界還是有光明的，隻不過我們要奮鬥和等待。

It's one of those books where i) the concept is better than the execution; and 2) there is more hard work than ingenuity. When I saw the long list of works by the author I did feel a lot of respect, but maybe this is how far one can go with some passion, a lot of perseverance but limited talent. Literature and art are by nature cruel occupations.

從二百頁開始，就像陷入沼澤，閱讀變得緩滯，有的時候，一本小說全是簡單句和短句反而會讓閱讀變得煩纍(ali smith的那本the accidental也是類似情形處處精彩過分工巧反而整體會顯得闆滯) 這本《使女》可以是關於totalitarianism，也可以是關於孩子(對比門羅的dear life，其實是關於母愛有點"親愛寶貝"的意思) 可以用一個好萊塢老電影片名概括: 《育嬰奇譚》但在我看來這本書最深刻的地方是關於"性"，女主在開始最不自由的處境也不忘記用"性"來誘惑"衛士"，和主人玩拼字遊戲那也是關於"性" 和主人外麵嘗試一次自由性愛之後失望轉而投入男僕懷抱甚至瘋狂到脫離謹慎本性那也是因為"性" 最後脫身倒是因為......愛，也許。

First try was disastrous. Second, better. Her book needs a bit chewing, a bit patience to go with the poetic flow. Soon enough, I felt being lead on. Then comes the true enjoyment, from the power of SF.
