很實在的書，適閤認識五綫譜而且對樂理有一點基本瞭解的朋友。剛開始讀Rosen的書的時候以為一首麯子要是Rosen恰好在其中撿到瞭幾個和聲上比較有趣的點他就會覺得這首麯子“好”，反之則不好，但是後來纔發現他對於音樂的態度是很開放、並沒有那麼多成見/模版的。而且Charles Rosen是鋼琴傢齣身所以也有很多演奏方麵的思考，對於僅僅是業餘愛好彈鋼琴的人也很有啓發。另外，盡管書裏有一些可能理解不能的觀點但是真心沒啥“正確的廢話”，其他學科甚至非學術寫作都應該學習這一點 #不負責任鬍說
