潘卡吉‧米什拉（Pankaj Mishra）

1969年生於印度，並於新德裏的尼赫魯大學取得英美文學碩士。米什拉以撰寫小說，並以Butter Chicken in Ludhiana這本關於印度的社會學研究報告聞名，另外還為《紐約書評》、《紐約時報》、《衛報》撰寫評論。2008年他被選為英國皇傢文學學會（Royal Society of Literature）的會員，2012年，《外交政策》（Foreign Policy）雜誌提名他為「全球百大思想傢」之一，《經濟學人》則稱他為「薩依德的繼承者」，並列其《從帝國廢墟中崛起》為「年度好書」。

譯者：黃中憲

有關原殖民地的對於西方的抵抗，作者僅僅將其簡化為一種源自於本土的，帶有烏托邦意識的文化訴求，確閉口不提這種抵抗是怎樣在資本主義邏輯中被重塑的。例如，書中舉瞭有關毛的對於烏托邦社會主義的構想來源於中國傳統文化的例子，卻不提中國革命在全球資本中的重新構建。難道發動一場革命的目的就是為瞭實現一個傳統的烏托邦理想？另外，對於20世紀初期各個民族國傢的興起僅僅歸因於帝國的崩潰，完全沒有考慮國傢的構建與帝國之間的連續性。
