Her speech changes slightly for the different characters, but there is not much dialogue. The abridgement retains the continuity of the story. 著名文學其實也分種類的。 The Scarlet Letter屬於很直白，但應該很暢銷的那種。它的故事一目瞭然，它的寓意不難理解。想省腦子的看情節，無聊時閱讀算是消遣,，願意當作文學著作分析的則去研究它的宗教內涵等等。這本書可供雅俗共賞。換做Ulysses，恐怕讀者要吐血三升。
