奈达在语言和文化关系这方面的研究非常透彻，至今不衰。对于有志于该方面研究或者写此方面论文的学生很实用。

第一次看奈达的书，木想到这位大师如此平易近人，英文清晰简单，简直就不像理论书么~~！因为奈达是语言学出身的，里面三分之二都是讨论language，然后剩下的说翻译的practice和training，只有两章才重点说了功能对等理论。翻译理论太少是本书最大的不足~~
